Salmon and Sturgeon trips

Willamette – The Willamette was closed to Sturgeon trips but Salmon hit the ground running the channel produced nice fish and the mid and upper Willamette got red hot as the month wore on however the number of crazy’s were multiplied.
Columbia – Salmon action was good right up to the closure.  I was even able to get a few Walleye trips in with modest success.  I fished for Sturgeon in the upper section by the Dam with great success since everyone was either Salmon fishing or on the Willamette.

NOTE:  Starting May 1 the Sturgeon marker moves down to Marker 82 by the Multnomah Falls so no fishing above that, it will be interesting how the Shad season is effected.

Next Up:  May is the start of Shad and Oversize Sturgeon I am looking forward I love to Shad fish.
